Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum, but I had some questions about SCENAR I was hoping someone could answer.
I recently tore my right-knee ACL in a snowboarding accident, and am scheduled for surgery to repair it on the ninth of April, 2008. So very soon, in other words. My friend was telling me about the wonders of SCENAR and I was wondering if it would be as effective (if at all) on an injury such as an ACL tear. I'm sure it would stop pain and such, but would it actually repair the damage?
I am 21 years old and very active, and the surgery due next week would force me to drastically drop my activity level over the summer. No wakeboarding, hiking, running, etc. My snow season has already been cut short (admittedly by only a month, but it still sucks!) and I was hoping to find out more about this before I go under the knife.
Also, what would the recovery time be, if such a repair is possible with the system? With surgery, recovery is close to six months. :,(

Thanks in advance for any replies! And I am also undergoing another surgery in May to tighten up my shoulder from an old dislocation injury. Would SCENAR take care of that too?

I thought that I should post because I don't know if anyone else here would be able to answer your question quick enough. My advice is ditch the surgery and get an appointment booked with a scenar therapist immediatley ( make sure they are not using a DENS or DENAS though, they cheap and not as effective ) . The scenar will inform your brain internally that there is a problem and will speed up the natural healing process. Whilst you are waiting for your appontment research scenar results and what other people have said on the internet, there is plenty to read.

This is especially of use to you

I know that this website is about INTERX but (whispering) its the same thing as scenar, just don't tell Zulia I said that.

These comments also apply to your shoulder.

Recovery time should be roughly halved.

Regards Zeph

Thanks for the reply! I have decided to go forward with the surgery, as my ACL is completely torn and several people have told me that in order to repair actual structural damage, I cannot avoid the surgery. However, they did say that the recovery time would be drastically reduced if I used SCENAR for post-operative therapy. Now I just have to decide between hamstring or patella graft...

Would SCENAR tighten up my shoulder though? Nothing is torn, I have simply dislocated it several times and it is easy for it to pop out now. The surgery surgery would be a scope to reduce my range of motion a bit.

Also, how much do the SCENAR therapists charge for the service? Does insurance cover it? Thanks a ton!

I think so, read these

In the UK I have heard anything between £25 and £75 a session ($50-$150) ( about an hour), do a search on the net to find your nearest. You will have to ask them about insurance too
